About Us

Arham Foundation ( Khichdi Ghar): Who We Are?

Arham Foundation, lovingly known as Khichdi Ghar, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to serving underprivileged communities across Mumbai.
Founded in 2016 by four kalyan mitras (well-wishers) — friends bound by compassion and a shared purpose — we began with a simple act: serving hot khichdi every Sunday at Thakur Village Centre. What started as a small gesture of love has grown into a movement of over 50 committed volunteers, now distributing meals every day at Thakur Village Centre and every Sunday at Samta Nagar Centre and Asha nagar Centre.
Beyond food, we extend our care through the distribution of raincoats, blankets, and notebooks — because true support means addressing hunger, harsh weather, and the hunger for education alike.
We intend to open more distribution centres in the coming years, reaching further and serving more of Mumbai's communities.
Our mission is simple: ensure that no one goes hungry, stays unprotected, or lacks basic resources. Through every meal served and every blanket given, we strive to bring warmth, nourishment, and hope — fostering a community built on compassion and social responsibility.

Our Mission

At Arham Foundation, our mission is rooted in a simple human truth — no one should go to bed hungry, no child should sit in the cold, and no young mind should be left without the tools to learn.
Every day, our volunteers show up — not because they have to, but because they believe that one warm meal, one dry raincoat, and one notebook can change the course of a life.
We are committed to:

  • Protecting the vulnerable from harsh weather with raincoats and blankets
  • Empowering children with notebooks and a belief in their future
  • What began as four friends serving khichdi on a Sunday has grown into a family of over 50 volunteers across Mumbai — and we are just getting started. In the coming years, we aim to expand to more centres and more cities, because compassion knows no boundary, and neither does our commitment to serve. One act of kindness at a time. One community at a time. Together.
